United Methodists have had a long-standing relationship with Haiti through the Methodist Church of Haiti. The strong ties between the Methodist Church of Haiti and The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) helped in facilitating the opening of the UMCOR Haiti field office in 2005. 100 percent of Advance gifts made will go to support relief and development efforts due to emergencies in Haiti.
DRESS OUR PEOPLE
Please come and join us as we make clothing for the children and youth of Haiti on Monday, February 15th, 9 am - 12. Bring along (if you have them) a portable sewing machine, scissors. If you can bring supplies; we need cotton or knit fabric, double or single fold bias tape, 3/4" elastic. If you can't supply any of these, please show up to help anyway. THE COMMUNITY IS WELCOME TO JOIN US TO HELP THOSE IN NEED!
LENTON STUDY TO BE HELD ON THURSDAY EVENINGS
Deb and Jim Janish will have a Lenton class at AUMC on Thursday February 18th starting at 7pm and ending at 8:30 pm. The book will cost $12. If you can't afford it, one will be supplied. Please join us and all are welcome!
LENTON STUDY OFFERED ON WEDNESDAY EVENING
See 'CLASSES' at the top of this page This class will be offered combined with First Presbyterian since last year's combined study was so well attended. The classes begin on February 24th and end March 31st.
Enjoy soup and sandwich at 5:45 pm while we discuss the book, The Life You've always wanted by John Ortberg. The class is one hour. The book will cost $14, but if you can't afford it, one will be supplied for you. The community is always welcome! Makes checks out to First Presbyterian church and give it to Pastor Richelle ASAP.
DivorceCare MINISTRY (COMMUNITY IS WELCOME-JOIN US!)
"DivorceCare" ministry. David Hamilton will lead these open-to-the public sessions to be held in the Lounge at the Auburn United Methodist Church Lounge starting Nov. 2.
Meetings will be from 7 to 9pm Mondays.
